What a Doula Does — and Does Not Do
Your doula is part of your support team, not a replacement for your medical provider. Soulful Harmony Birth provides emotional, physical, educational, and practical support. Doula services do not include diagnosing conditions, performing clinical examinations, interpreting fetal monitoring, prescribing treatment, or making medical decisions.
Support for Your Partner, Too
Doula support is not meant to replace your partner. It helps your partner feel more confident, informed, and supported so they can remain present with you. I can offer suggestions for comfort measures, help your partner better understand the flow of labor and ways they can support you, provide reassurance, and give your partner opportunities to rest when needed.
A Birth Experience Centered Around You
There is no single “right” way to give birth. My role is not to direct your choices, but to support you as you make informed decisions that feel right for you and your family. Whether your birth includes an epidural, induction, cesarean birth, unmedicated labor, or a change in plans along the way, you deserve compassionate support without judgment.
